History of the UK VA Conference 2007-2021

The first UK VA Conference and UK VA Awards was organised by Carmen MacDougall in Milton Keynes in 2007. She went on to sell the rights to the Conference and Awards to John Palmer of BeMyVA in 2013. When the UK VA Conference and VA Awards celebrated their 10th anniversary, the event took place at Olympia as part of the Office*Show.   For the next couple of years, the event was collocated and integrated with either Office* Show or the PA Show.

Reflecting the many ways that Virtual Assistants can consume content and adapt to different ways of working, Covid-19 saw the UK VA Conference and UK VA Awards become a virtual event in 2021. While the UK was gripped by homeschooling children of all ages, social distancing, Conference was delivered in four sessions over four days to maximise opportunities for Virtual Assistants able to attend."

Moving Forward

In October 2021, the UK VA Conference, UK VA Awards and the BeMyVA Directory were bought by Amanda Johnson of VACT Limited

Her goal (or ambition) is not only to continue to promote the role  and value of Virtual Assistants to the global corporates, entrepreneurs and the SME business networks but also to recognise the Virtual Assistants themselves for the contributions they make.
